Asking Questions

You can ask a Question in the current Interaction (Interactions will be explained later) by pressing Windows+Space, Q. This will open the Blazie Agent Question dialogue and put your focus in the Question edit. Type the question you want to ask and press Enter to send it. While the AI is thinking, you will need to wait and cannot carry out any other actions on your computer (don’t worry, this is normally only a few seconds).

Once the response is ready, JAWS will read it to you. If you want to repeat the answer for any reason, e.g., it was interrupted by a notification, press Windows+Space, R and JAWS will repeat the response.

You can copy the last response to the clipboard by pressing Windows+Space, C.

For longer responses, you may want to navigate through the text at your own speed. To do this, press Windows+Space, V to virtualise the response.

You can also press  Windows+Space, Shift+V to virtualise the entire Interaction. The Virtual Viewer window will appear with the entire Interaction history with the original Question and response at the top of the document and the newest Question and response at the bottom. In this window you can use the standard reading keys, select, and copy text. Once you have finished with the Virtual Viewer, press Escape to close it. You can also navigate using the H quick navigation key to jump through the headings.

If you prefer to read all the responses at your own pace, you can use the keystroke Windows+Space, Shift+Q to ask your question and the response will automatically be virtualised.

Interactions

When using Blazie Agent, an Interaction is like a conversation. You can ask as many questions in one Interaction as you like. As you continue an Interaction, the AI will base its answers on the previous Questions and responses allowing you to have a more streamlined experience and not repeat information. If you want to ask a Question about a different topic, you should start a new Interaction, otherwise the AI will use the previous Questions and responses to formulate its answer and it may affect the suitability or validity of the responses you receive.

Starting A New Interaction

The first time in a day you ask Blazie Agent a Question, it will automatically start a new Interaction for you. When you are ready to start a new topic, you can create a new Interaction but pressing Windows+Space, N. A prompt will appear asking if you are sure you want to start a new Interaction. Press Space or Enter on the Yes button. The new Interaction will load and you will automatically be promoted with the Question dialogue to ask your first question in the new Interaction.

Managing Existing Interactions

Blazie Agent stores all your previous Interactions locally on your machine. Press Windows+Space, L to list all your previous Interactions. The Interactions History list box will appear and your focus will start in the list of previous Interactions. You can navigate the list with the Up and Down Arrow. Press Enter to load the previous Questions and responses for that Interaction. Now when you ask a Question, it will continue in the newly selected Interaction.

Deleting Interactions

If you want to delete a previous Interaction because you no longer need it, press Windows+Space, L to open the Interactions History list box, and navigate to desired Interaction in the list using the Up and Down Arrow. When you have the desired Interaction selected, press Alt+D to activate the Delete button, or Tab to the Delete button and press Space or Enter to activate it. A prompt will appear asking if you are sure you want to delete the Interaction. Press Space or Enter on the Yes button.

You can delete all your previous Interactions by opening the Blazie Agent Interactions list box with Windows+Space, L then press Alt+A to activate the Delete All button, or Tab to the Delete All button and press Space or Enter to activate it. A prompt will appear asking if you are sure you want to delete the Interactions. Press Space or Enter on the Yes button.

Once an Interaction is deleted, it cannot be retrieved.

Managing Licences

Your Blazie Agent licence allows you to activate it on up to three different machines at any one time. You can change these machines whenever you want to give you as much flexibility as possible. In order to register your Blazie Agent licence to a new computer, you will first need to install the JAWS scripts on that machine, then press Windows+Space, K to copy that computer’s unique Key to the clipboard.

Press Windows+Space, W to open the Blazie Agent web portal home page. After logging in, activate the My Account link, then activate the Computer Keys link. Navigate to the Computer Key edit field for the computer you want to register and paste in the Key you copied to the clipboard. Tab to the Computer Nickname field for the associated computer and type a nickname. The nickname is just to make it easier to keep track of which Key is used where, so give it a simple name which let’s you know which computer it is for, e.g., Home Laptop, or Office.

Activate the Save button to complete the process.

Updates

When JAWS starts, it will automatically enable Blazie Agent. It will announce that Blazie Agent is initialised, along with the current version you are using, e.g., “Blazie Agent 1.1 initialised”. If there is an update available, then when JAWS starts it will announce this, e.g., “Blazie Agent 1.1 initialised. Script update available”.

If there is an update available, you can press Windows+Space, U to take you directly to the Downloads page on the Blazie Agent website. Navigate to the Download Installer button and activate it to download the most up-to-date installer. Once downloaded, run this installed and you will have the latest version. Note, you do not need to uninstall the existing Blazie Agent files to install an update. The update will install over the top.

If you would prefer to not have Blazie Agent announce that it is initialised when JAWS starts you can configure this in the quick settings dialog by pressing JAWSKey+V and searching for BlazieAgent.
